Buyers spring in to Cotton Beach
Published: 24/12/2009
Beachfront Cotton Beach, on the New Tweed Coast, is luring buyers south of the Queensland border, with Gold Coast and Brisbane -based purchasers dominating the more than $9 million in sales recorded at the Multiplex Living development in the last 12 weeks alone.
Sales are expected to ramp up even further, as the northern New South Wales beachfront strip attracts holidaymakers and day trippers soaking up the sun during the summer holidays.
The latest sales run comes on the back of Multiplex Living’s Spring Campaign, in which a limited selection of apartments was made available priced from just $279,000 to $850,000, in-line with current market conditions.
Multiplex Living Sales and Marketing Director, Tim Willing, said purchasers had recognised the great value and excellent beach front quality on offer at Cotton Beach.
“Buyers from the Gold Coast and Brisbane, in particular, have realised they can secure an apartment in Cotton Beach for a fraction of the price they would pay for anything similar north of the border,” he said.
“At the same time, there are very few new projects on the Gold Coast with an absolute beachfront position, where you can virtually step straight from the grounds and on to the sand.
“The Tweed Coast is more popular than ever with buyers from Queensland, impressed with the ease of access to the area delivered by the Tugun Bypass and anticipating it will only get better with work about to begin on the Sexton Hill upgrade.
“The recent approval of the long-awaited Casuarina Town centre has also been a catalyst for buyers. When completed, the $400 million project is expected to not only to deliver increased amenities including a Coles supermarket, shops and restaurants, but add to the precinct’s appeal with new residents and visitors alike.”
Mr Willing said Cotton Beach’s location at Casuarina Beach – about 15 minutes south of Gold Coast Airport, 70 minutes south of Brisbane and 30 minutes north of Byron Bay – had also been popular with buyers from the Tweed, Sydney and as far afield as Tasmania and New Zealand.
Following the latest string of 18 sales, there are just 15 one, two and three bedrooms apartments now available as part of the Summer sales release.
Mr Willing said Cotton Beach’s quality design, unique location and the fact it was one of the few projects on the Tweed Coast that could be lived in, holiday let or permanently let made it ideal for a range of purchasers.
“Cotton Beach has been attracting buyers from all walks of life; from those looking for a pure holiday home, to those wanting to own and occupy, to purchasers investing at today’s prices with the intention of downsizing to their apartment later in life,” he said.
“Beachfront property is highly sought -after and with premium sites close to major urban centres being developed out, the opportunities to secure a new apartment or home on the water in south-east Queensland or northern New South Wales will be few and far between.
“The apartments at Cotton Beach are beautifully appointed, with many featuring private plunge pools or roof terraces with room for barbecues and outdoor furniture.
“It is five star resort style residential living, without the price tag.”
Cotton Beach comprises a total of 129 one, two and three bedroom apartments, priced from $279,000, within a three level building.
The development features a range of on-site facilities including tropical gardens, a lap pool, lagoon pool, steam room and gymnasium, and is within close proximity to the Tweed Coast’s array of restaurants, cafes and shops.
Prospective purchasers can visit the sales suite and furnished display apartments at 685-707 Casuarina Way, Casuarina, which is open daily from 10am to 4pm. For further information, contact 1300 88 99 79 or visit www.multiplexliving.com
