Cotton Beach design takes beach living to new levels

Published: 31/10/2009

The New Tweed Coast’s first absolute beachfront residential resort, Cotton Beach, has taken the concept of coastal living to a whole new level with its innovative and chic architectural design.

Developed by Multiplex Living on a 1.6 hectare parcel fronting Casuarina Beach, the recently completed project was created by renowned architect Noel Robinson, who is credited as one of the most influential forces behind modern Australian coastal design.

Taking inspiration from Bali’s Discovery Kartika Plaza Resort and the Gold Coast’s renowned Sheraton Mirage, Robinson and the Multiplex Living team have raised the bar for beachfront apartment projects in the Northern NSW region.

Mr Robinson says the quality of Cotton Beach is second to none.

“”The brief was simple – deliver an outstanding quality resort, benchmarked with the world’s best,” Mr Robinson said.

“The site was superb – an absolute beachfront parcel of land set on a pristine seven –kilometre gold sandy beach on the New Tweed Coast.

“Rarely does an architect have such a great beachfront site to work with.

“Cotton Beach is unique because of its response to the site, its sensational water axis, its mix of product diversity, its position in the market and unique design outcome.”

Prospective purchasers can now step into a fully furnished display apartment to get a first hand glimpse of the quality of Cotton Beach apartments, which are now selling priced from just $279,000.

Apartments are designed with floor to ceiling glass windows and large balconies with alfresco areas to allow residents and guests to make the most of their surroundings.

Large, open plan living rooms and seamless transitions between indoor and outdoor areas make the apartments spacious and breezy like a traditional beach home.

Most ground floor apartments have private plunge pools, while most top floor apartments feature roof top terraces with ample space for barbeques and outdoor furniture.

Multiplex Living Sales and Marketing Director Tim Willing says Cotton Beach is designed to suit its beachfront location.

“We have taken care to ensure that every aspect of Cotton Beach does justice to its surroundings,” Mr Willing said.

“The building’s facade is shaped like a wave and all materials used in construction were chosen for their suitability to a beachside environment.

“The interior scheme can be described as ‘contemporary coastal’ – the colours are warm and earthy, representing the golden dunes and the blue-green hues of the ocean and hinterland.

“The finishes and fittings are absolutely top of the range, including natural stone and timber, with optional laminate doors and  European appliances.

“Multiplex Living has also teamed with a specialist supplier to offer furniture packages which complement the colour scheme and laid back atmosphere at Cotton Beach.”

Mr Willing says Cotton Beach was created to suit a niche group of owner occupiers and investors.

“We created Cotton Beach to meet the needs of purchasers looking for a high quality, beachfront property with the flexibility to live in, use as a weekender or rent depending on their lifestyle,” Mr Willing said.

“Each apartment boasts an open plan design to maximise living space, whilst keeping with the ‘low maintenance’ trend that is popular amongst purchasers looking to downsize.

“It makes sense that when people buy an apartment in a stunning place like Cotton Beach, they want to make the most of the unique environment.

“To this end, the orientation and layout of each apartment has also been carefully considered, to ensure the best aspects are captured.”

Cotton Beach also boasts first class environmental design principles, including natural ventilation of apartments, preservation of dunes and natural vegetation and use of natural gas, energy and water efficient appliances.

Just 30 per cent of the site is developed, with the remaining 70 per cent retained for landscaping, pools and public open space.

Mr Robinson says harmony with nature is a key design element.

“Here, natural materials, landscaping and outdoor spaces have been incorporated at every opportunity.”

In addition to local amenities such as restaurants, bars and shops, Cotton Beach residents can enjoy a range of exclusive on site facilities including a lap pool, lagoon pool, steam room and gymnasium.

Work on the $386 million retail precinct Casuarina Village, will soon be underway and completed in xxxx. Only xxxx metres away, Cotton Beach residents will be provided  an even bigger variety of stores and services on their doorstep.

Cotton Beach comprises a total of 129 one, two and three bedroom apartments within a three level building. One bedroom apartments are priced from $279,000, while two and three bedroom units start from $399,000 and $599,000 respectively.

Prospective purchasers can visit the sales suite and furnished display apartments at 685-707 Casuarina Way, Casuarina Beach, which is open daily from 10am to 4pm. For further information, contact 1300 88 99 79 or visit www.multiplexliving.com
